I am a proponent of making each neighborhood school a "Community Hub."  A neighborhood school is not just a place where parents send their kids, its is valuable resource for every member of the community. It is place where the partnership between the district and family is cherished, and each school's leadership has the flexibility to meet the needs of its community.

Community

Equality

Stewardship

As a member of your school board I will weigh and measure every decision; so as we address the needs of the present, we will not sacrifice the needs of the future.

After ten plus years in the classroom, one of the biggest lessons I have learned as a teacher is that "equal" and "fair" are not the same. Fairness is not giving each student the same thing; it is giving students what they need. I will work hard to see that each school will have what it needs, to ensure that each student in the San Mateo Foster City School District will have an equal education.
